Last winter, Lovin Elementary was among eight Gwinnett schools that received a combined $47,000 in grants from Infinite Energy designed to boost education in science, technology, engineering, art and math, or STEAM.

With the $5,000 grant Lovin received, school officials bought robotics kits that helped students learn about positional words, story sequencing, shapes, map skills, measuring and graphing. Students also use them to learn basic code writing and to investigate principles of force and motion, according to teachers at Lovin and Infinite Energy officials.
