Shiloh grad Everton Blair wins historic school board election, Steve Knudsen also wins seat

Gwinnett County Public Schools Board of Education made history Tuesday night with the election of the first African American as a school board member.

Democratic candidate Everton Blair, 26, will represent District IV after defeating Republican candidate Chuck Studebaker by a margin of 56.1 to 43.9 to fill outgoing board member Dr. Robert McClure’s seat.

Meanwhile, Republican Steve Knudsen narrowly defeated Wandy Taylor 51.8 to 49.2 for the District II seat.
