Former Brookwood High School student Amanda Riley used to run down Dogwood Road, a tradition hundreds of cross-country runners continue to do during the fall.

As a freshman and sophomore she churned mile after mile of pavement and sidewalk on that road, and countless miles spent running in her neighborhood, Brookwood Manor, just a stone’s throw away from the high school.
