For the second time this calendar year, Brookwood High School’s science department has received grant money to upgrade equipment.
In the spring, global science company 3M Corporation gave science teacher Carrie Settles Livers a $35,000 grant to fund an aquaponics lab, which combined STEM education with outdoor learning and community outreach.
This past week, it was announced Brookwood will be upgrading equipment in physics classrooms after a $16,000 grant from 3M was received. The grant will allow the school to purchase new Bluetooth-enabled electronic data collection probes, software, and 20 laptop computers for hands-on investigations in physics class.
