Heather Wheeler, a North Gwinnett Middle School science teacher, is a finalist for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
Sponsored by the National Science Foundation, the PAEMST is the highest honor awarded by the United States government, specifically for K-12 science, technology, engineering, and mathematics teaching. Wheeler is one of six state finalists for the prestigious award that recognizes teachers with deep content knowledge of their subjects and the ability to motivate and enable students to succeed in those areas.
