Thursday morning two teams worth of students departed from Suwanee’s North Gwinnett Middle School for a chance at history — winning the school’s first quiz bowl national competition.

Heading to the National Academic Quiz Tournaments’ Middle School National Championship is nothing new for coach Scott Johnson — this is the fourth straight year his team has qualified.

What is unique is North Gwinnett Middle will be sending two teams to the 191-team competition in Chicago.
