Moore Middle School in Lawrenceville held an event called “Summer Slam” on Monday, centered around promoting reading to students. The Gwinnett County Public Schools Bookmobile visited the campus, and students entered a raffle to win gift baskets created by Moore Middle teachers and staff.
One of the evening’s highlights was the new infinity room in the media center, organized by art teacher Katherine Genser and volunteers. The plywood box lined inside by mirrors was assembled in roughly one month by student and faculty volunteers. Plans are to keep the room in the media center as a quite reading space for students.
