Local teens use chess to help seniors keep sharp minds

What started two years ago when two high school students volunteered to work at a Suwanee retirement home is today an effort across three metro Atlanta counties to help seniors keep their minds active by teaching them to play chess.

Poojita Chinmay, a senior at Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology in Lawrenceville, and her cousin, Anuhya Tadepalli from Milton High School, struck upon Chess for a Cause, when they worked with the seniors and thought they could do more to help.
