Jeff Poynter had four goals that he wanted to accomplish when he began raising money for pancreatic cancer research earlier this year.

He wanted to show devotion to God; honor his friends, Cliff Ramos and Donna Bennett, who are battling pancreatic cancer by getting people to pray for them; finish the 26.2-mile Rock ’n’ Roll Savannah Marathon that is coming up on Saturday; and raise $10,000 for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, also known as “Pan Can.”
