Lanier High School’s Valyn Turner will represent Georgia at the national finals of the 2018 Poetry Out Loud contest. A junior, Turner will head to Washington, D.C., April 23-25 after recently winning the state competition.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Council for the Arts announced Turner’s state championship in a press release on Wednesday.
