Lanier High School looks to expand robotics

Twenty-two elementary school robotics teams arrived at Lanier High School on Dec. 2 with one goal in mind — create the best Lego robot possible.

For Lanier High School teacher Mike Reilly and the Longhorn robotic team it was a chance to not only teach future members of the team, but to also serve as judges for First Lego League.

The First Lego League is a way to introduce young people from fourth grade to eighth grade to science and technology. The league has multiple regional events across the state of Georgia, with high placing teams advancing to a super regional event, before the state championships and national championship.
