Simpson Elementary School in Peachtree Corners is a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School. School officials learned of the honor on Monday after an announcement by U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.

The school is one of 13 in the state and 349 in the country to earn the distinction, which is based on overall academic excellence. According to the U.S. Department of Education, Blue Ribbon schools demonstrate that all students can learn on a high level.
