With an impressive keynote speaker already on board for its induction ceremony, the Gwinnett County Sports Hall of Fame made its Class of 2017 inductees public this week.
Providence Christian grad and gymnast Courtney Puckett Oros, Berkmar grad and basketball player Tony Akins, Collins Hill grad and wrestler Kyle Maynard, and Wesleyan grad and football player Chad Hall were selected for their athletic endeavors. They are joined in the hall’s eighth class by longtime Gwinnett coach Jack Britt, a Grayson grad.
Those five will be celebrated May 19 at the Infinite Energy Center with an evening that features Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn, fresh off a Super Bowl LI appearance, as the keynote speaker. The event is a fundraiser for the Gwinnett County Public Schools Foundation, which provides financial resources to support the education of GCPS students.
