GCPS honors latest class of Aspiring Principal Program

Gwinnett County Public Schools on Thursday marked another milestone in its principal leadership development program.

At its workshop meeting with the Gwinnett County Board of Education, the district honored 11 people who completed the latest cohort, its 11th, and have plans to move on in leadership roles with the district.

“Clearly, the development of a healthy pipeline of leadership is an essential component for the current and future success of the students of Gwinnett County Public Schools,” said Glenn Pethel, assistant superintendent of leadership development.

Pethel said the district looks to the need for principals in relation to school growth, retirements and attrition.
