Governor Nathan Deal announced Gwinnett County Public Schools’ “Getting Ready to Read” project was awarded a $20,000 grant as part of the Early Language and Literacy Mini-Grant Program.

The Early Language and Literacy Mini-Grant Program is a collaborative effort between the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement and the Sandra Dunagan Deal Center for Early Language and Literacy at Georgia College. The program targets children from birth to the age of eight in trying to develop literacy and language.
