Gwinnett County Public Schools is adding a second book mobile to promote student reading this summer.

The school district will hold an official ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Barnes & Noble, which is located at 5141 Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree Corners. Prior to the ribbon cutting there will be performances by school groups from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and tours of the Book Mobile from noon to 2:30 p.m.

The Explore Book Mobile will travel a 35-stop route in the Norcross cluster each week, checking out school library books to students who may not have easy access to the public library. The district’s first mobile library — the POW Book Mobile — launched this past May and will continue to serve students and families in the Meadowcreek cluster.
