Open to South Gwinnett High School Students Only
This one-time $1,000 scholarship given annually was established in 2022 in honor of Joel Alan Rutledge, a graduate of South Gwinnett High School in 1967. Joel was a football and basketball player throughout his high school career and continued to film the football games for 48 years and basketball games for 25 years. Joel loved South Gwinnett High School and bled BLUE! Go Comets!
Scholarship Requirements: Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4 pt. scale, a recommendation letter by a faculty member, and has applied to a 2-year college, technical college, or a 4-year college or university. Additionally, the student must be an active football or basketball player during the year of the scholarship award.
