Dr. Kevin Tashlein

Dr. Kevin Tashlein’s career in education spans over two decades.  He currently serves as Strategy and Performance Officer for Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS), a large diverse urban school district located northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. His previous district-level service includes two and a half years as the Associate Superintendent of School Improvement & Operations. Prior to moving to the central office, he served as the principal of two GCPS high schools where he led Phoenix High School for eight years and Peachtree Ridge High School for five and a half years.

Dr. Tashlein received his undergraduate degree from Siena College, a master’s degree from Florida State University, and his doctoral degree from The University of Georgia.  While pursuing his doctorate, Kevin studied educational leadership under Dr. Carl Glickman.  At UGA, Kevin was an active member of the League of Professional Schools, helping enhance his educational knowledge, perspective, and growth.

He is married to Julie, a middle school science teacher, and has two daughters, Abigail and Sydney.

Dr. Tashlein is a non-voting member of the Foundation Board.
