Gwinnett County Public Schools’ (GCPS) Community-Based Mentoring Program received a $25,000 grant from The Primerica Foundation to expand the successful boys mentoring program to include a girls mentoring option.

Studies show that successful mentoring programs help students develop social skills, improve school achievement and graduation rates, as well as build character. GCPS proactively developed a Community-Based Mentoring program to connect caring adults in the community with students in grades 4 through 12. The mentors provide guidance, encouragement, and support, helping mentees become successful young adults, both in and out of school. Every year mentors interact and support more than 500 students from across the district.
