Local nonprofit organization, 3rd Mile, Inc. started serving free meals to needy children across Gwinnett on June 1.

As part of the USDA Summer Food Service Program, a total of 18 schools, churches, businesses and apartment complexes are sites for children to receive food during the summer months.

The breakdown of sites are nine high schools, four businesses, four apartment complexes and Berean Christian Church in Snellville.
