As Gwinnett Stripers mascot Chopper walked into Jackson Elementary School’s Media Center, the 100 or so second-graders in the room cheered, extending their arms to give him a high-five.

Smiling, Stripers Community Relations Coordinator Kelly Watrous, who accompanied the mascot, turned to the students, asking them if they knew what kind of animal Chopper was.
