GCPS Foundation Scholarship Catalog Spring 2026

Note to students: Please read the criteria for each scholarship carefully. Pay close attention to the unique requirements of each (such as essay topic) and whether the GCPS Foundation Scholarship Application can be used. Many of scholarships listed in this catalog can be submitted using the GCPS Foundation Scholarship Application.

For scholarships using the GCPS Foundation Scholarship Application, the deadline is Monday, December 31, 2025, 5:00 p.m. for students.

The deadline for faculty to submit letters of recommendation is
Monday, January 26, 2026, 5:00 p.m.

Note: *All scholarship checks will be made payable to the institution of where the GCPS graduated student will be attending.

Akilah Bateman Music Scholarship (open to Meadowcreek HS graduating seniors only)

*Open to Meadowcreek High School students only.*

A one-time award of $300 sponsored by the family and friends in memory of Akilah Bateman to a graduating senior of Meadowcreek High School who has demonstrated proficiency in music with plans to enroll full-time in an undergraduate course of study in the field of music.

Requirements:
o Applicants must have a 3/0 GPA on a 4/0 scale
o Submit a letter of recommendation by a music teacher or administrator
o Have plans to enroll in an accredited college, university or music school the fall following graduation
o Submit a one-page essay on how music makes a difference in our everyday lives

Alton C. Crews Educator Scholarship

A one-time award of $1,000 sponsored by the GCPS Foundation will be presented to a graduating senior who has met the following requirements. One or more recipient may be named.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Exhibit good character and leadership skills
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member
  • Submit a two-page essay describing interest in the teaching profession

Area 2 Gwinnett County Council of PTA Scholarship (open to applicants who attend Area 2 School)

Scholarship season is currently closed.

*Open to Area 2 High School Seniors attending Peachtree Ridge, Lanier, North Gwinnett, Paul Duke STEM, Collins Hill, Duluth, GSMST, Mountain View, Norcross

A one-time award of $750 solely funded through the local PTA council membership and council contributions. Area 2 is proud to present this scholarship to one deserving high school senior attending each of the Area 2 high schools listed above (a total of 8 scholarships awarded), and has successfully met or exceeded the State of Georgia graduation requirements, with plans to continue their education by attending an accredited two or four-year college or university, vocational/trade school, or pursue other post-graduate education/training.

Deadline: March 9, 2024

Requirements:
o Applicant must be a graduating senior of an Area 2 high school with a PTA/PTSA
o The PTA must be in good standing (ie. Paid dues, approved bylaws on file
o The applicant and at least 1 adult from their household must be a PTSA member
o Applicant is planning to attend an accredited two or four-year college or university, vocational/trade school, or pursue other post-graduate education/training.
o Applicant has a satisfactory scholastic record acknowledge by an administrator, counselor, or teacher.

Beauty P. Baldwin Scholarship

Upsilon Alpha Omega, the Gwinnett Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., was chartered in Gwinnett County on January 29, 1994. One of the first challenges taken on by the chapter was to establish a scholarship for young women in Gwinnett County. The scholarship was named in honor of one of our chartering members, Mrs. Beauty P. Baldwin. Thus far, we have awarded numerous scholarships totaling thousands of dollars to college-bound high school seniors.

Upsilon Alpha Omega is offering a scholarship to high school seniors to further their educational opportunities. The scholarship focuses on marginalized or disadvantaged communities (male or female).   It is the chapter’s goal to promote post-secondary education endeavors. The scholarship will be awarded to students who meet the following scholarship qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Must be a Gwinnett County Public School senior
  • Of African American descent (male or female)
  • Must already be accepted to an accredited four-year college or university
  • Must possess leadership potential and discernible good character
  • Must demonstrate superior scholastic achievement (minimum 0 GPA)

*The Scholarship process will open in January 2025 with additional directions provided at that time. Deadline: February 1

Beyond the Spectrum Scholarship

The women of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated Sigma Omicron Zeta Chapter of Gwinnett County invite eligible seniors to apply for our Beyond the Spectrum Scholarship.

The Beyond the Spectrum Scholarship provides support for deserving students who are bound for postsecondary education, are high school senior, and who is currently diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. We are offering two $500 scholarships.

Interested applicants must submit a completed scholarship application, as well as any required documents, by January 16, 2026. If any student needs assistance in applying, we are more than happy to help!

Brenden and Alex Elbaz Scholarship

The Brenden and Alex Elbaz Memorial Scholarship was initially established through the Gwinnett County Public Schools Foundation and was exclusive to a Lanier High School Student where his mother Joy Crowe was a teacher.

In 2011 Brenden Elbaz, at the age of 23, tragically died of a drug overdose. Nine years later, in 2020, Alex Elbaz at the age of 27, lost his life to Fentanyl Poisoning. Brothers Brenden and Alex were 5 years apart and very close. Both college students at the time. Brenden was a political science major at University of North Ga., formerly known as Gainesville State University, and Alex was a month from graduating Georgia Gwinnett College with a degree in accounting, which was received posthumously.

Brenden and Alex were loved immensely by their family, friends and all those that knew them. They both encountered personal challenges which they battled to overcome, and each will be remembered in that spirit.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Acceptance to any accredited post- secondary institution
  • Write a one-page essay explaining how you faced adversity in your life and exhibited strength in the face of personal challenges. Your essay must include how you were able to overcome the hardship and how it changed you; please share your dreams and aspirations as well. Deadline: March 15

Captain Hugh N. Mulzac Scholarship (open to students with a strong commitment to the maritime industry and a desire to serve their country through the merchant marines)

The Capt. Hugh N. Mulzac Scholarship is merit-based and will provide financial assistance to students who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a U.S. Merchant Marine Academy or a U.S. Maritime college. It is open to students of all backgrounds and academic levels who have a strong commitment to the maritime industry and a desire to serve their country through the Merchant Marines. The scholarship amount is $1,000, and can be used to cover tuition fees, textbooks, and other educational expenses.

Requirements:

  • You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0.
  • You must exhibit good character and leadership skills.
  • You must be a minority student (including but not limited to African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American, or Asian American).
  • You must be currently enrolled or attended Gwinnett County Public Schools.
  • You must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy or a U.S. Maritime college.
  • You must provide a letter of reference from a faculty member.
  • You must submit a two-page letter explaining why you are passionate about serving their country through the Merchant Marines and how you plan to use your education to make a positive impact in your community or country.

Clara Barton Aspiring Nurse Scholarship

This annual one-time award of $500 – $1,000scholarship was established by Shelli-Ann McKenzie. As a Registered Nurse, Dacula resident, community leader, and Founder of Help for Healthcare Professionals (HHCP), a local nonprofit, she felt impressed to support local youth in pursuing a career in nursing.

In an effort to further motivate and incentivize high school students, the Clara Barton Aspiring Nurse Award & Scholarship will be presented annually. HHCP will recognize two outstanding High School seniors who have been accepted into a 2-year or 4-year nursing program. *One graduating student from each Dacula and Mountain View High Schools will be selected annually. Deadline: April 1

Community-Based Mentoring Program Scholarship (open to seniors who participated in the CBM Program only)

This scholarship is a one-time award of $1,000 and will be presented to a GCPS high school graduating senior who participated in the program and plans to enroll at a four-year, two year, or technical college.  All scholarship winners will be recognized at the End of Year Celebration Recognition in May.

Courtney S. Blair Women in Business Scholarship (open to female Shiloh HS students only)

A one-time award of $1000 to a female senior at Shiloh High School who is in the top 10% of her class who is interested in pursuing a career in Business or Entrepreneurship.

Requirements:

  • Proof of class rank (1st semester senior transcript)
  • A two-page double-spaced, typed essay expressing your desire to continue your education in pursuit of a career in Business or Entrepreneurship.
  • Describe experiences you have had which influence your decision regarding a future career in Business or Entrepreneurship.

Courtney S. Blair Student Leadership Scholarship

A one-time award of $1000 to a senior who is in the top 5% of his or her class and a member of the Gwinnett Student Leadership Team.  

Requirements:

  • Proof of class rank (1st semester senior transcript)
  • A two-page double-spaced, typed essay expressing
  • Reflecting over your high school years, share an experience in which you exercised significant leadership in your school and describe the result of your efforts.

Courtney S. Blair Outstanding Excellence in Athletics and Academics Scholarship

A one-time award of $2000 to a senior who is in the top 1% of his or her class who letters in two or more varsity sports.

Deloris and Reid Mullins Scholarship (open to Archer HS applicants only)

This is a one-time award of $1,000 awarded to one or more deserving graduating senior(s) in honor of Deloris and Reid Mullins, former GCPS educators and long-time residents of the Archer cluster.

Archer High teachers make nominations in March each year.

Dr. Robert (Bob) Clarke Memorial Scholarship

A one-time award of $1,000 in honor of Dr. Bob Clarke, a school psychologist at Gwinnett County Public Schools will be presented to a GCPS high school graduating senior with plans to enroll full-time in a course of study in school psychology, social work, or a STEM healthcare field. Association.

Requirements: 

  • Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0. scale
  • Provide a letter of recommendation from a faculty member or community leader
  • Submit a one-page essay describing interest in a career in school psychology, social work, or a STEM healthcare field.

Dr. Tarece Johnson-Morgan Scholarship for the Arts

A one-time award of $1000 presented to a college bound GCPS senior districtwide. One or more recipients may be named. Emphasis will be placed on participation in the arts (painting, graphic design, illustration, sculpture, literature, film, music, dance, theater, poetry, photography and/or fashion) and volunteer work demonstrating a commitment to making a difference in the community.

If preferred, instead of writing an essay, applicants have the option to submit a 3-minute video describing how art has improved your life and what you want to do with your art in the future.
Deadline: June 1

  • Financial need

Edupoint CTAE Scholarship

The Edupoint CTAE Scholarship is a one-time award of $1,000 will be presented to two GCPS graduating seniors with plans to pursue a technical field of study at an accredited technical school (e.g., TCSG).

GCPS was provided with the Partner for Life award from Edupoint Educational Systems our student information system provider. As part of the award, GCPS was provided with money to support student scholarships.

A one-time $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from GCPS with plans to enter the teaching profession.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0. scale
  • Exhibit good character and leadership skills
  • Provide a letter of recommendation from a school administrator or counselor
  • Submit a two-page essay describing a desire to enter the teaching profession

GCPS Foundation Louise Radloff Scholarship

A one-time $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from GCPS who has overcome a significant challenge to become a high school graduate. There is no minimum GPA requirement for this scholarship, and funds can be applied to any form of postsecondary training or study that leads to future employment.

Requirements:

  • Applicants should demonstrate good character and involvement in community or school activities
  • Provide a letter of recommendation from a school administrator or teacher
  • Submit a two-page essay describing their path to graduation success.

A one-time award of $1,500 will be presented to a GCPS graduating senior with plans to enroll full-time in an undergraduate course of study in science, technology, engineering, or math. One or more recipient may be named.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a minimum 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member
  • Submit a one-page essay describing interest in a STEM related career.

GCPS Foundation Multicultural Scholarship

Established in 2015 and sponsored by the Gwinnett Multicultural Advisory Committee, this Scholarship is a one-time award of $1,000 presented to a college bound GCPS senior of Hispanic, African American, Asian/Pacific Islander or other minority origin. One or more recipient may be named. Emphasis will be placed on leadership roles, community service or volunteer work demonstrating a commitment to the community.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on 4.0 scale
  • Submit a two page essay describing community involvement and the impact from their work
  • Provide a letter of recommendation from a faculty member
  • Have plans to enroll in an accredited college or university for fall 2026.

GCPS Foundation STEM Scholarship

A one-time award of $1,500 will be presented to a GCPS graduating senior with plans to enroll full-time in an undergraduate course of study in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. One or more recipient may be named.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a minimum 2.7 GPA on a 4.0. scale
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member
  • Submit a one-page essay describing an interest in a STEM-related career

GCPS Foundation Science, Engineering, and Innovation Grant (open to science fair participants districtwide)

Begun in 1978, the Gwinnett Regional Science, Engineering and Innovation Fair is the gateway event for science, technology, engineering, or mathematics projects (STEM) seeking to advance to state/national competition and the goal of competing against the world’s best at the International Science and Engineering Fair.

The Gwinnett Regional Science, Engineering, and Innovation Fair hosts’ students from middle and high schools representing all Gwinnett County Public School (GCPS) clusters, as well as GCPS special entity schools and participating non-GCPS private or public schools that operate in Gwinnett County. Among the special entity schools competing each year is the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology, a school consistently ranked as among the top ten best STEM high schools in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.

A one-time award of $500 may be presented to a GCPS junior (or team) demonstrating exceptional creativity and problem solving at the regional level. The grant is intended to reimburse for registration, travel, shipping, and/or STEM project creation expenses related to competition at any level.

No application necessary.

GCPS Foundation Science, Engineering, and Innovation Scholarship (open to science fair participants districtwide)

A $1,000 will be presented in recognition of outstanding performance at the regional level to a one-time to a GCPS senior with plans to enroll full-time at the post-secondary level in a course of study in science, technology, engineering, or math. One or more recipients may be named. No application necessary.

Georgia Army National Guard GMC State Service Scholarship

There are 85 slots per year for current serving and prior service National Guard/Reserves soldier. Soldiers admitted through the Soldiers Admissions Program receive a fully funded four-year education valued at $450,000. These are very competitive and to be eligible the applicant must be a National Guard Soldier in good status. The West Point Admissions Committee determines admission for program.

Requirements:

  • Be a U.S. citizen at the time of enrollment
  • Be at least 17, but not older than 23 years of age on July 1 of the year entering USMA (or not older than 22 on July 1 of the year entering USMAPS)
  • Be medically qualified by the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board
  • Be a high school graduate or have a GED
  • Be of high moral character and never have been convicted of a felony
  • Submit official scores on the standardized ACT exam or the SAT with writing test
  • Be nominated by Army National Guard unit commander
  • Have completed Basic Combat Training prior to admission; completion of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) is not a prerequisite

Georgia Army National Guard GMC State Service Scholarship #2

The State of Georgia offers 42 scholarships per year to GMC for awarding to Georgia high school seniors who attend GMC and agree to serve two years in the Army upon graduation. The State Service Scholarship pays for your room, meals, tuition, books, uniforms, fees and is worth $53,000+

Requirements:

 

  • Must be a Georgia resident
  • Enlist into the GAARNG
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA
  • Combined SAT score of 800
  • Composite ACT score of 177
  • Earned no more than 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of post-secondary hours with a minimum 2.5 GPA

Georgia Army National Guard Minuteman Scholarship

The Minuteman Scholarships are two-to-four-year scholarships. Offers either full tuition and mandatory fees or a room and board flat rate of $12,000 per year, covering up to 4-years (8 semesters) of benefits, as well as a $1,200 per yearbook stipend. You will also receive monthly National Guard drill pay, GI Bill, training pay, and Army ROTC contract pay. The amount of scholarship awarded each year vary. Deadline: December 1

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Enlist into the GAARNG
  • Between ages of 17–30
  • High School/College GPA of 2.5
  • Must receive a Nomination Letter
  • Must have taken one of the following to qualify: SAT, ACT, or PSAT

Georgia Army National Guard UNG Georgia Military Service Scholarship

The State of Georgia offers 42 scholarships per year to UNG for awarding to Georgia high school seniors who attend the University of North Georgia and agree to commission as officers in the Georgia Army National Guard after graduating with a bachelor’s degree. The GMS pays for your room, meals, tuition, books, uniforms, and fees is worth $106,000+ over four years.

Requirements:

  • Must be a Georgia resident
  • Enlist into the GAARNG
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • Meet all regular freshman admission standards

Geri Flanary Memorial Scholarship (open to Duluth HS applicants only)

Annually, a one-time award of $1,000 will be presented to a GCPS Duluth HS graduating senior with plans to enroll full-time in an undergraduate course of study at an accredited college, university, technical, or trade school. Geri Flanary was the heart and soul of the school and was dedicated to caring for students in need. Because she was dedicated to helping those in true financial need succeed educationally, the ideal candidate will demonstrate financial need and will plan on serving the community to help the greater good. Deadline: February 1.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need through being a free and reduced lunch recipient, 3.0 GPA
  • Submit a letter of recommendation by a faculty member with whom the student works with during their senior year
  • Submit a 600-word essay describing a challenge that the student has overcome, the plans the student has for his/her educational future, and how that future will impact the greater good and society.

GIVE Center West “I DARE YOU” Scholarship (open to GIVE West HS seniors only)

The I Dare You Scholarship is a one-time $500 scholarship that will be awarded to a current GIVE West graduating senior who has positively improved their school-record through empathy, equity, and excellence while enrolled at GIVE Center West. The ideal candidate is one who has become a leader at GIVE West through motivating others.  There is no minimum GPA requirement for this scholarship, and funds can be applied to any form of postsecondary training or study that leads to future employment.

This is a non GCPS Foundation managed scholarship.  Contact Nancy Nusbaum for details and instructions. Deadline is March 29

Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated Scholarship (open to all Black/African American high school seniors attending a GCPS school [excluding high schools in Centerville, Snellville, and Loganville])

Applicants who are the children of members of the Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. are not eligible for this scholarship.

Requirements:

A complete online application that consists of the following:

  • A typed essay on a selected topic (refer to Essay tab)
  • An electronic copy of your high school transcript (refer to Education tab)
  • Three (3) electronically submitted letters of recommendation (refer to Recommendations tab)

Deadline: All items must be submitted electronically by Friday, February 6.

All completed applications will be reviewed and scored by the Scholarship Committee of the Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter. The top-scoring applicants will be granted an interview in March 2025, to determine the scholarship recipients. All scholarship recipients will be notified no later than April 12.

Gwinnett County Retired Educators Assoc. Student Teaching Scholarship

The purpose of this $1,500 scholarship award is to honor high school seniors from the Gwinnett County Public School system and/or those from City of Buford HS who are planning to enter teaching as a career. Academic ability and financial need will be reviewed, but the overriding criteria will be the applicant’s sincere intention of becoming a teacher. Deadline: March 7

Heidi Facultad Mulzac Scholarship (open to Grayson HS seniors only)

The Mrs. Heidi Facultad Mulzac Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship for graduating seniors enrolled in Gwinnett County Public Schools. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to students who plan to enter the teaching profession. It is open to students of all backgrounds and academic levels who have a strong commitment to the field of education. The scholarship amount is $1,000, and can be used to cover tuition fees, textbooks, and other educational expenses.

Requirements:

  • You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0.
  • You must exhibit good character and leadership skills.
  • You must be a minority student (including but not limited to African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American, or Asian American).

Hope McKenzie Scholarship (open to Grayson HS applicants only)

A one-time award of $1,000 will be presented to a student excelling in the arts at Grayson High School. The McKenzie family will present the award in honor of Hope McKenzie at Grayson HS Honors Night each year. Contact the Grayson High School counseling office for details. Deadline: January 9, 2026

Jason Appling Technical Education Service Scholarship (open to Collins Hill only)

Mr. Appling was an avid supporter of technical programs that allowed students to begin careers without a traditional 4-year college degree. In honor of his commitment to service and to students desiring a career in a technical field, we are offering the Jason Appling Technical Education Service Scholarship. The scholarship is a one-time scholarship for $2,000.

Applications are available through the CHHS Counseling office.

Jim Maran STEM Scholarship

A one-time award of $1,000 will be presented to a GCPS graduating senior in honor of James J. Maran, Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce past president. One or more recipient may be named.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a minimum 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Plans to enroll full-time in an undergraduate course of study in science, technology, engineering, or math
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member
  • Submit a one-page essay describing interest in a STEM related career.

Jody Reeves Career & Technology Education Scholarship

The Career and Technical Education Student of the Year is a competition held every year. Each GCPS high school has their own requirements for choosing its respective school’s CTE Student of the Year. See the CTE Department Chair at your school for more information on how to apply.

Joel Alan Rutledge Memorial Scholarship (open to South Gwinnett HS students only)

A one-time $1,000 scholarship given annually was established in 2022 in honor of Joel Alan Rutledge, a graduate of South Gwinnett High School in 1967.  Joel was a football and basketball player throughout his high school career and continued to film the football games for 48 years and basketball games for 25 years.  Joel loved South Gwinnett High School and bled BLUE!  Go Comets!

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4-pt. scale
  • a recommendation letter by a faculty member
  • and has applied to a 2-year college, technical college, or a 4-year college or university
  • Additionally, the student must be an active football or basketball player during the year of the scholarship award.

Joseph Abraham Memorial Scholarship

This is awarded in memory of Joe Abraham, who passed away in 2017 at the young age of 19 due to fentanyl poisoning. The award will provide a one-time $1,000 scholarship to one or more recipient with plans to attend a two or four-year college, university, or accredited technical school.

Eligible recipients can include high school seniors who have had issues with substance abuse and have turned their life around. Recipients can also be senior who is in recovery from a substance abuse disorder or any high school senior who has been adversely impacted by a family member that suffers from substance use disorder.

Requirements:

  • Submit a written essay on one of the following topics:
    • Personal issues with substance abuse and how a path to success has been found.
    • Personal experience with a parent or sibling’s drug abuse issues and how a personal path to success has been found.
  • Submit two letters of recommendation.

Judy Patterson Legacy Memorial Scholarship (open to Archer HS applicants only)

A one-time award of $1,000 in honor of community volunteer Judy Barrow Patterson will be presented to an Archer High School senior who has demonstrated service to others, leadership ability, good character, and has met the requirements for spring 2024 graduation.

*Attendance at the Archer High School Awards Night in spring 2024 is requested to receive this scholarship.

Kerensa Wing Principals of Service Scholarship (open to CHHS seniors only)

A one-time award of $1,000for a senior wanting to give back to the community by going to a post-secondary school in a service field (teacher, police, firefighter, etc.).

Requirements:

  • Submit a written essay describing your career goals and documented volunteer hours must be attached
  • Applicant must have a minimum 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Complete 100 volunteer hours

*The completed application must be returned to the Collins Hill HS Counseling Office by email, mail, or interoffice, on or before the deadline of 2:00 pm, December 5.

Lieutenant Colonel John Ira Mulzac Scholarship (open to minority students)

The Lieutenant Colonel John Ira Mulzac Scholarship is merit-based and will provide financial assistance to students who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll in the U.S. Air Force Academy or an Air Force university. It is open to students of all backgrounds and academic levels who have a strong commitment to the military and a desire to serve their country through the Air Force. The scholarship amount is $1,000, and can be used to cover tuition fees, textbooks, and other educational expenses.

Requirements:

  • You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0.
  • You must exhibit good character and leadership skills.
  • You must be a minority student (including but not limited to African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American, or Asian American).
  • You must be currently enrolled or attended Gwinnett County Public Schools.
  • You must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in the U.S. Air Force Academy or an Air Force university.
  • You must provide a letter of reference from a faculty member.
  • You must submit a two-page letter explaining why you are passionate about serving their country through the air force and how you plan to use your education to make a positive impact in your community or country.

Mark A. Herndon STEM Scholarship

A one-time award of $1,000will be presented to a GCPS high school graduating senior with plans to enroll full-time in a course of study in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

    • Provide a letter of recommendation from a faculty member or community leader
    • Submit a one-page essay describing interest in a career in technology, mathematics, or science.

Murphy Family Academic Athletic Scholarship (Open to Peachtree Ridge HS graduates only)

Established this year by the Sean and Cindy Murphy family for Peachtree Ridge HS graduates. This one-time $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a deserving graduating senior who has a cumulative 2.7 GPA at end of 1st semester Senior year, has participated in at least 2 years of sports during high school and NOT getting any scholarship to play sports in college. Established in 2021 in honor of Celeste Norton Wilbanks, wife of former CEO/Superintendent J. Alvin Wilbanks, a one-time $5,000 scholarship will be awarded by sponsor Peach State Federal Credit Union.

Peach State Federal Credit Union Louise Radloff Scholarship

A one-time $5,000 scholarship sponsored by Peach State Federal Credit Union will be awarded to a graduating senior from GCPS who have overcome a significant challenge to become a high school graduate. There is no minimum GPA requirement for this scholarship, and funds can be applied to any form of postsecondary training or study that leads to future employment.

Pearls of Excellence Scholarship

Pearls of Excellence Scholarship provides support for deserving young ladies that are bound for postsecondary education, a high school senior from the Gwinnett County area, who exemplifies the founding principles of the Sorority: Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood. RHG Workforce Scholarship

This is a one-time award of $1,000 given to 1-2 recipients each year. Richardson Housing Group (RHG) established the RGH Workforce Scholarship to promote trade and technical education related to the construction/development industry. Celebrating 50 years as a small family business in Gwinnett County RHG recognizes the impact of trade and technical careers on our community. The intent of this scholarship is to provide financial support to students seeking trade or technical certifications and grow the local workforce.

Requirements:

    • Student must apply in their senior year of high school
    • Student must be a Gwinnett County resident
    • Student must submit an acceptance letter to a trade or technical school in Gwinnett County prior to receiving scholarship (attach to application)
    • Student must submit a letter or essay explain the impact you feel you could make on your community in your desired profession 9limit one page; attach to application)
    • Preference given to students with a parent employed in a trade related to construction/development

Applications will be disseminated via school counselors and social media beginning January. Completed application should be email to apply@rhghomes.com by March 31.

An application is considered complete once application, essay, and acceptance letter are received. All scholarship decisions will be made by the Community Foundation selection committee.

Scholarship awards will be dispersed to scholarship recipients according to guidelines set forth by the Community Foundation of Northeast Georgia.

Rho Beta Sigma Alumni Chapter Scholarship for Academic Excellence

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Rho Beta Sigma Alumni Chapter continues to provide support and serve the needs of Gwinnett County through the pillars of our organization: Bigger and Better Business, Education, and Social Action. Under our Education program, we desire to give scholarships in the amount of $1,914 to three graduating male Gwinnett County Public Schools high school seniors in the Spring of 2025.

The winners will meet the following guidelines:

  • A record of volunteerism in the community through school and/or non-school sponsored activities
  • Participation in at least one extracurricular school activity
  • A minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
  • Plan to attend a college/university or technical school.
  • Complete a 500-word essay answering the following prompt: Describe a project, initiative, or volunteer experience that has made a difference in your community. Susan D. Headley Scholarship (open to Archer HS applicants only)

A one-time award of $500 to a student who exhibits good character, a love of learning, a desire to further his/her education, and is eligible for postsecondary education.

Sweetwater Scholarship (open to Berkmar HS applicants only)

The purpose of the Sweetwater Middle School Scholarship is to raise college awareness at Sweetwater MS, affect the graduation rate at Berkmar High School, increase the vertical work between our schools, rally community support, and assist deserving students with financial need. A $500 scholarship will be given to a senior who attended Sweetwater Middle School and Berkmar High School and plans to attend college in the fall.  One or more recipient may be named.

Teaching as a Profession Scholarship

Four $500 scholarships will be awarded to seniors enrolled in the Early Childhood Education Program or the Teaching as a Profession Program with plans to pursue a teaching degree in college. There will be one overall winner that will receive a $1,000 scholarship award. Teaching as a Profession Scholarships are sponsored by the GCPS Foundation and Georgia United Credit Union.

The Gabe Andrews Scholarship (open to GSMST students only)

The Gabe Andrews Scholarship is awarded to outstanding GSMST students who have excelled in English Language Arts. Recipients are nominated by their senior Language Arts teacher, and finalists are selected through a vote by the English Language Arts Department based on academic performance, behavior, and creativity.

This $1,000 award is given to at least one senior.

A one-time award of $2,000 for one or more college-bound GCPS seniors who are planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year college/university. Deadline: March 31, 2026

Requirements:

  • A GPA minimum 2.7, with plans to enroll in the fall 2022 as a full-time student in either an accredited 2-year or 4-year institution

Upsilon Alpha Omega, the Gwinnett Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc (Open to applicants of African American ethnicity districtwide)

This scholarship is offered to a graduating senior (male or female) with plans to further their education at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).

Requirements:

  • Must already be accepted to an accredited HBCU four-year college or university
  • Must possess leadership potential and discernible good character
  • Must demonstrate superior scholastic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA)

There will be an interview process for those selected. Opens January 2026.
