Norcross Elementary School art teacher Bobbie Adamczyk is spearheading an effort to turn a bland, brown retaining wall located on Mitchell Road into a mosaic that will highlight the surrounding community.

Norcross Elementary students and local volunteers began work March 18 on a five-panel cement-board that features mosaics and painted images depicting the seasonal colors of nature, wildlife and plants.

Mill Creek senior Katie Kreusel and Grayson senior Lauren Wyton have earned spots in the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy’s Early Entry program.

The Early Entry program offers high-achieving high school seniors early acceptance into the professional pharmacy program and will allow Kreusel and Wyton to avoid the competitive pharmacy school application process that normally occurs during a pre-pharmacy major’s junior year of college.

Easter Sunday at Berkmar High School was anything but a normal day, it was Huncho Day.

Donning a Berkmar High School name tag that read “Principal Huncho,” former Berkmar quarterback Quavious Marshall — known more popularly as “Quavo” from the Atlanta-native rap group Migos — greeted fans and local Berkmar cluster students after they completed football drills with new Patriots head coach Willie Gary.

Two high school students from Gwinnett County have been selected by Jackson EMC as delegates to the 2018 Washington Youth Tour, scheduled for June 7 to 14.

Peachtree Ridge High School sophomore Lydia Ebun Ajayi and Mountain View High School junior Briani Netzahuatl were chosen for an all-expenses paid leadership development experience sponsored by Georgia’s electric cooperatives and organized by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
