The 2018 high school senior class, not only has the distinction of being the first graduating class to be born in the new millennium, but it is the largest and most decorated to date in the school district’s history.

The auto services program at Maxwell High School is sending two teams to compete for a national championship at the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge.

The competition has students disassemble and rebuild a complete factory automobile engine. Teams are judged on how fast they can complete the task, while following all safety and factory specifications.

Three days are left in the career of Greta Coble as a crossing guard. Three days left of holding a stop sign with worn duct tape and guiding students across Skyland Drive, the dividing line between South Gwinnett High School and Britt Elementary School. While seniors are focused on graduation from high school, Coble will face a graduation of her own — retirement.
