  • Finished HS career with 55 home runs, 164 RBIs, .443 average
  • Hit 20 homers as a junior and 16 as a senior
  • Won two state titles in baseball and two in football at Parkview
  • Had 15 interceptions as a junior in high school
  • Had 1,035 receiving yards and 14 TD catches as a senior
  • Named state¹s football Player of the Year as a senior
  • Signed a football scholarship to Clemson
  • 2002 Picked in the first round of the MLB Draft by Atlanta Braves
  • 2003 Atlanta Braves South Atlantic League All-Star selection
  • 2003 Member of the Carolina League regular season and postseason All-Star team.
  • 2004 Named the top prospect in the Braves organization by Baseball America.
  • 2004 Awarded largest signing bonus ($2.2 million) in Braves history
  • 2005 Sports Illustrated Cover.  Dubbed "The Natural" after hitting .360 with a 1.067 OPS in his first 37 games
